Zetex® Fiberglass Rope is commonly used in high temperature packing and sealing applications involving hot air, steam, water, fluids, or gases. Fiberglass rope is conformable and durable, resistant to most acids and alkalis, and won't shrink, stretch, or unravel. Zetex® Fiberglass Ropes are made by plying together and twisting or braiding the same highly texturized premium fiberglass yarns used to weave Zetex® Fiberglass Fabrics.
Zetex® Braided Fiberglass Rope is stronger, denser, smoother, and more stable than twisted rope. It is used in packing applications that require greater resistance to compression and mechanical wear.
Temperature Resistance
Zetex® Fiberglass Ropes can both withstand operating temperatures up to 1000°F / 540°C and peak temperatures up to 1300°F / 700°C.
Any Zetex® Fiberglass Rope can be treated with our proprietary ZetexPlus® Vermiculite Coating for additional temperature and abrasion resistance. The coating works to dissipate heat across the surface of the rope so that it can withstand operating temperatures up to 1300°F / 700°C and peak temperatures up to 1500°F / 815°C.
In addition to the products described here, we can also manufacture custom treated or untreated fiberglass ropes. Minimum order requirements apply.
All of Zetex® Fiberglass Ropes are asbestos-free and manufactured in the United States at our Victor, New York facility.
