Coating for Improved Temperature & Abrasion Resistance
Our ZetexPlus® Vermiculite Coating is one of our most reliant high temperature coatings; it causes heat to disperse evenly across the surface of the fiberglass fabric, significantly boosting its temperature rating and abrasion resistance. ZetexPlus® Vermiculite Coated Fiberglass Fabrics withstand operating temperatures up to 1500°F / 815°C and peak temperatures up to 2000°F / 1095°C.
The ZetexPlus® Vermiculite Coating has larger platelets and a greater percentage of solids than competitive vermiculite coatings. The larger platelets give the high temperature coating better coverage and allow it to more effectively disperse heat across the surface of the fabric. In addition, the ZetexPlus® Vermiculite Coating features an organic adhesion promoter that reduces flaking and wear while improving moisture resistance.
Materials used to fabricate high temperature gloves, welding blankets, or insulation blankets are often treated with a vermiculite coating.
