Aluminized Film for Advanced Radiant Heat Protection
Aluminized film, commonly known by the brand name Mylar®, is bonded to high temperature fabrics for use in aluminized clothing and heat shields.
Newtex uses a proprietary DualMirror II®/ Z-Flex® Multilayer Aluminization (MLA) process which utilizes the latest aerospace thin film deposition technology to apply fine, highly reflective aluminum particles to both sides of a high temperature polymer film barrier.
The resulting DualMirror II®/ Z-Flex® Aluminized Film is then chemically and mechanically bonded to a premium substrate fabric using a proprietary adhesive that is activated by both heat and pressure. The result is a finished aluminized fabric with superior bonding which will not delaminate under even the most demanding flexing conditions.
We manufacture a range of DualMirror II®/ Z-Flex® Aluminized Fabrics including aluminized fiberglass fabrics, aluminized rayon fabrics, and aluminized aramid fabrics. The Z-Flex® Aluminized Film is also available for toll lamination services. Often, fabric manufacturers send their fabrics to our facility for lamination because DualMirror II®/ Z-Flex® Aluminized Film provides the highest achievable level of radiant reflectivity, chemical and moisture resistance, and thermal protection
