Panther Felt™ is an inherently flame resistant felt insulation that can withstand temperatures up to 1800°F / 980°C. This high temperature felt is woven from Polyacrylonitrile fibers (PAN fiber), a precursor to carbon fiber.
Panther Felt™ is commonly used for the fabrication of high temperature safety apparel because it is strong, lightweight, and easy to handle, cut, and sew. Felt insulation is also commonly used to fabricate welding blankets and welding protection because it’s an easy to drape high temperature insulation that resists heat, sparks, and molten metal splatter. In addition to safety apparel and welding blankets, felt insulation can be used in a variety of thermal management applications like high temperature gaskets and plumbers pads or in combination with heat resistant mats in multi-layer industrial insulation blankets.
Panther Felt™ is available in 16oz or 22oz weights.
Newtex also has custom fabrication capabilities and can manufacture custom Panther Felt™ welding blankets or curtains to your custom specifications or utilize multiple high temperature insulation materials to develop custom insulation blankets for you.
